Programs

Nouvelle Life Placement and Transitional Living Program typically serves males and females, ages of 5 to 19, who are homeless or in the custody of the state of either Kansas or Missouri. These young people usually have limited adult resources and/or have dropped out of school, the state hasn't found a home just yet, or needs somewhere safe and temporarily to mentally make their own decisions.

Additionally, they lack independent living skills, employment experience, and transportation. Some might have been homeless prior to entering our program. Some are parenting teens with little or no parenting skills or support. Others may have intellectual disabilities. Nouvelle Life offers and serves children and young adults with life skill training in a supervised housing setting for children and the young adult, age 5 to 19 who has a behavioral issues, mental illness, lacks a place to live, and requires adequate financial and social support to make a successful transition to becoming a responsible, independent adult.

Our dedicated staff works with hundreds of children and families to ensure they have the prevention, treatment and support services they need to heal and become more resilient for the future.

Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in achieving our mission. By spending quality time with our youth, tutors and mentors serve as inspiring role models. Through landscaping and painting projects, community groups improve our facilities to create comfortable environments for our children. Whether volunteering as an individual or with a group, our volunteer specialist will match you with an opportunity that fits your schedule and interests.

Common mentor/mentee activities include playing games, playing outside or in the gym, and doing arts/crafts. Mentors must be 21 years of age, submit to a background check and drug screen, attend training and orientation to qualify, as well as make a six month commitment.
